Born in 1971, Kenan Alpdündar graduated from the Department of Economics at the Faculty of Political Sciences, Ankara University in 1994. He completed his MBA degree with a specialization in finance at Loyola University Chicago, USA, between 2000 and 2002.
He began his professional career in 1994 as an Assistant Inspector at Garanti Bank. From 1995 to 2004, he served as Assistant Inspector and Inspector at the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT). Within the same institution, he held the position of Assistant General Manager from 2004 to 2006 and later served as Consultant for Banking and Financial Institutions in 2006. Between 2006 and 2009, he worked as Manager of Financial Sector Assessment at the Banking and Financial Institutions Department, and from 2009 to 2012, he served as Assistant General Manager responsible for the departments of financial sector assessment, credit bureau operations, and investment and financing instruments. Between 2012 and 2014, he served as Assistant General Manager at the Budget and Financial Reporting Department, overseeing the departments of accounting, budgeting and planning, and balance sheet operations. After serving as Consultant from 2014 to 2015, he was reappointed as Assistant General Manager at the Budget and Financial Reporting Department between 2015 and 2017. From 2017 to 2020, he served abroad as the CBRT Representative in Frankfurt and as Economic Counselor of the Republic of Türkiye in Frankfurt.
Throughout his career, Kenan Alpdündar has also participated in various audit and research commissions across different public institutions and organizations. He is fluent in English, French, and German. As of October 14, 2025, he was appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Tekfen Holding. As of December 18, 2025, he was also elected as a Member of the Board of Directors of Toros Tarım.
