Toros Agri becomes "Industry Stewardship Champion"

Toros Agri, which creates value for its stakeholders in every venue in which it operates under the principles of sustainable growth, operational excellence, and continuous improvement and with an awareness of its economic, environmental, and social responsibilities, has achieved another first for Turkey.

In 2018, Toros Agri became the first company in Turkey to receive the "Protect & Sustain" certification of IFA on Occupational Health and Safety, Environment, Product Safety, and Security.  Building upon this success, Toros Agri has now been named "Industry Stewardship champion" by IFA, thanks to the steps it took in occupational health and safety, environmental management, and energy efficiency drawing inspiration from best practices around the world, as well as the support the company gave to the "Benchmark and Analysis Platform" created by IFA in order to make comparisons between industry firms regarding the abovementioned issues, and ensure continuous improvement by encouraging exchanges between them.

Tekfen Holding Vice President on Agri-Industry and Toros Agri Chairman Hakan Göral said that the company has always acted in awareness of the responsibility of being a leader in its sector, adding: "While implementing our occupational safety and security practices, we manage all of our processes in the value chain with an integrated approach, from raw materials to farms. Our main priorities are increasing our efficiency at all stages, ensuring food and product safety, minimizing the environmental impact of our processes, creating efficient and safe working conditions for our employees, and raising the quality of our practices to international standards."

Göral said that work on each of the points he mentioned continues unabated at every level at the company, adding: "As Toros Agri, we aim to maintain in international markets the image of the high-quality, safe, and reliable Turkish brand that we have cultivated for years during our journey to become a regional power."
