Tekfen Agri Industry Group, engaged in the production and distribution of chemical fertilizers, seeds, seedlings, and warehousing of grains and feed grains; has purchased the Sapeksa facilities from the Sabancy Group in February 2004 with the aim of taking its place in all areas of the agricultural sector as well as pioneering the scientific studies in the Turkish agriculture.

The facilities located in Adana continue their operations under the name of “Toros Agripark” following Tekfen’s acquisition.

Tekfen Agri Industry Group which added "biotechnological" agricultural production and research studies to its activities with Toros Agripark facilities, shall also utilize "Toros Agripark" as the operation base for its agricultural services offered under the Toros brand in Mersin and Adana regions. In this context, Toros Agri Mediterranean Regional Offices have moved to the facilities.

"Toros Agripark" is focused on research and development projects in the "Seed Quality Laboratory" and "Biotechnology Center" with the goal of producing and preparing high quality, efficient and disease-free seeds, seedlings and young plants.

Toros Agripark Facilities are located in the Uçakalani region of Adana, with 5 separate units:

1- Vegetable Seeds Processing Units
2- Crop Vegetables Processing and Warehousing Units
3- Greenhouses built over 12 donums of land
4- Seed Quality Laboratory
5- Biotechnology Center

The Biotechnology Center is composed of two separate units.

With the “tissue culture” studies in the Biotechnology Center, the aim is to produce vegetal production material that is free of diseases and carries all characteristics of the variety in question. These scientific studies enables to provide broader services to the Turkish farmer and agriculture.

b- Molecular Biology Laboratory

The studies include production of hybrid seeds via multiplication through haploidic rays in melons, pumpkins and vegetables/fruits in similar classes with molecular genetic science methods; developing these seeds, tests related to “purity” ; “variety/ accuracy” and GMO’s in seeds.
